Our Team

Our team of doctors and nurses are experienced the full range of presentations to general practice. We are able to manage all issues from acute and chronic medical care, pregnancy and women's health, sexual health, psychological issues such as anxiety and depression, as well as lifestyle issues such as family planning, relationship breakdown, and communication difficulties.

MB BS FRACGP Dip Child Health

Dr Moya Wood has over 30 years of experience in all aspects of General Practice, she has a special interest in Skin Cancer Surgery, Paediatrics and General Medicine. She has completed a post-graduate Paediatric Degree at PMH.





Dr Penny Wood is a locally trained GP and has been working at Alexander Heights since 2014. She lives in Perth with her wife and three young children. She has experience in emergency care and rural general practice.

She is experienced with all aspects of general practice and has interests in LGBT issues, Paediatrics, Obesity, HIV Medicine, and Sexual Health. She also has a strong interest in mental health issues including family dysfunction, depression, and anxiety.

Penny is available for consultation Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and works some Saturdays.


Dr Sonia Gengatharen grew up in Perth and studied medicine at UWA. Prior to joining our team, she worked at a number of hospitals including Joondalup Health Campus, St John of God Midland Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Coffs Harbour Base Hospital. Sonia has a strong interest in paediatrics and completed a Diploma in Child Health in 2017. Her other interests include women’s health, mental health and emergency medicine.



MB BS BSc(hons)

Dr Matilda graduated from the University of Notre Dame Fremantle in 2015. Prior to starting General Practice training, Matilda worked for several years in emergency medicine and completed a Masters of Public Health. Her main areas of interest include sexual health, reproductive health (including unplanned pregnancy management), adolescent health and sexual assault medicine. She is trained in the insertion and removal of both Implanon contraceptive devices and Intrauterine Devices (IUDs), and is a prescriber of PrEP. She is currently studying for her Masters in Clinical Forensic Medicine.




Dr Kelly Windnagel is a locally trained GP registrar. She has completed a certificate in sexual and reproductive health including IUD insertion. She also has an interest in women's health paediatrics and musculoskeletal medicine. She is competent in many different joint injections and minor procedures
