Healthy Heart Check
We offer healthy heart checks to patients between 45 and 60. This is a government supported program to identify and manage any risk factors for heart disease and premature mortality.
The heart check includes:
- Blood tests, organised prior to the visit
- Visits with the nurse and the doctor
- Assessment of risk factors for heart disease, including blood pressure, diabetes risk, and cholesterol levels
- Calculation of an overall cardiovascular risk score, and diabetes risk score
- Management of lifestyle factors contributing to risk
- Assessment of risk factors for cancer
- Organising any referrals or interventions as required
During March and April we are offering healthy heart checks bulk-billed for all patients.
To book: Present to our front desk staff who will provide you with a blood test form and book you for the assessment, or book online through our online booking system using the booking type Healthy Heart Check.
The blood test is a fasting blood test (10 hours of nothing but water orally). Pathology is open every morning Mon-Sat from 8am.
